Mindfulness-Enhanced CBT

When going through a challenging time or experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression, it can become harder to focus and stay present in the moment, which makes it even more difficult to experience positive feelings that are important to our mental health.

Fortunately, mindfulness practice, especially when combined with cognitive behavioural strategies, is known to be beneficial in treatment of anxiety and depression. This program will teach mindfulness and CBT strategies to help you manage stress, anxiety, and depression and improve the way you feel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who will find this program helpful?

People who have had attacks of anxiety and depression at various times, people who frequently experience both sets of symptoms (whether or not they are currently suffering), and people who are interested in learning about mindfulness and meditation.

What will I learn in the program?

This program combines CBT with mindfulness techniques and meditation practice. You'll learn about symptoms of anxiety and depression, how to tune into your body, recognise unhelpful thinking patterns, tackle negative thinking, overcome fears through graded exposure, and maintain wellness long-term.

How is this different from the regular Anxiety and Depression Program?

This program follows the same characters and teaches the same CBT strategies as the Anxiety and Depression Program, but is more comprehensive as it incorporates mindfulness principles and techniques throughout to help you make the most of your new CBT skills.

How long does the program take?

The program consists of six modules, and it's recommended to complete one module every 1-2 weeks, allowing time to practice the skills learned.

How much does the program cost?

The program is free when prescribed by a clinician registered with THIS WAY UP. If you choose to enrol independently via the self-help pathway, a fee of AUD $59 applies.

‍

We've also partnered with selected private health insurers to give you free access to one of our mental health treatment programs.

What kind of support will I receive?

If your clinician prescribes the program, they can monitor your progress and wellbeing scores, providing support as needed. If you enrol as 'self-help', the program is fully automated, and while technical assistance is available, there is no clinical support.

What other help is available for my symptoms?

The best place to seek advice about treatment options for your specific symptoms and situation is from your GP. Click here for more information.
