Anxiety and Depression
Anxiety and depression commonly occur together. Constant worry makes it difficult to feel good, while negative thinking patterns can increase anxiety symptoms. Both conditions can stem from change and stressful experiences.

Fortunately, both anxiety and depression are very treatable, and many people who seek help can get better. This program will teach you practical skills to manage both sets of symptoms and improve the way you feel.

Who will find this program helpful?
The Anxiety and Depression Program is helpful for people who are experiencing a mix of persistent low mood, loss of interest, excessive worry, and anxious thoughts. It’s designed for those who may be dealing with both anxiety and depression at the same time and want structured, evidence-based tools to manage both conditions together.
What will I learn in the program?
Over six modules, you'll learn practical strategies for managing both persistent low mood and worry through an evidence-based approach called Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The program teaches you how to identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, tackle avoidance behaviours by facing your fears, and develop sustainable skills to maintain your wellbeing long-term.
How long does the program take?
The program consists of six modules, and it's recommended to complete one module every 1-2 weeks, allowing time to practice the skills learned.
How much does the program cost?
The program is free when prescribed by a clinician registered with THIS WAY UP. If you choose to enrol independently via the self-help pathway, a fee of AUD $59 applies.
We've also partnered with selected private health insurers to give you free access to one of our mental health treatment programs.
What kind of support will I receive?
If your clinician prescribes the program, they can monitor your progress and wellbeing scores, providing support as needed. If you enrol as 'self-help', the program is fully automated, and while technical assistance is available, there is no clinical support.
Do I need to be diagnosed with depression or anxiety to use the program?
You don't need to have been diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety to find the strategies helpful for managing your mood.
