Mixed Anxiety & Depression at a Glance
People with anxiety often feel nervous, tense, and worried, and try to avoid places, activities, or situations that trigger their anxiety. People with depression, on the other hand, feel persistently flat, down, unmotivated, and uninterested in the things they normally enjoy.
It’s not uncommon, however, for people to experience anxiety and depression at the same time. It’s hard to feel good and have fun when you’re constantly worried. Similarly, negative and self-critical thinking can make people more prone to worry. Moreover, both depression and anxiety can be caused by change and stressful experiences.
Fortunately, both anxiety and depression are very treatable, and many people who seek help can get better. The programs below will teach you practical skills to manage both sets of symptoms and improve the way you feel.
Programs for Mixed Anxiety & Depression
If you’ve been experiencing symptoms of both anxiety and depression, the programs below will teach you practical strategies for tackling both conditions. These 6-lesson programs follow the illustrated stories of the same characters, but differ in the strategies they teach.
We recommend choosing the Anxiety and Depression Program if you have not received Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for your symptoms before. It is a slightly shorter program and will teach you effective CBT strategies for tackling how you feel.
If you’ve previously received CBT for your symptoms and would like to revise your skills and/or are interested in learning about mindfulness, we recommend choosing the Mindfulness-Enhanced CBT Program. This program is slightly longer as it combines the CBT strategies of the Anxiety and Depression Program with mindfulness skills and meditation training.
